In The Woods

This is the cover of a book titled in the woods. I think it is creative because every letter branches off like it was in a forest. Every letter in the title has equal importance because they are all the same size.
This was in the Dec. 2008 Print magazine.

Greeting Card

This is a greeting card illustration. I think it is cool because the focal point is in the center but the rest of the parts are on the right side only, which makes it have a good asymmetrical composition.
Found in Print magazine, Dec. 08 issue

Dallas Society of Visual communications

This is a poster for their national student show and conference. It is neat because the roots of the tree are the various tools artists need to do their work.
This was found in PRINT magazine Dec. 08 issue.

Ribbon for soldiers

This is a poster for a suicide awareness campaign aimed at members of the military. I like how they took the yellow ribbon ( which is for military) and twisted it to look like a hanging body, it is a very creative and effective poster.
This was in the Dec. 08 Print magazine.

Target POSTER

This is a poster for Target. It works well because there are the target logos throughout the poster, and it has a crystallographic composition, where you keep seeing new stuff.
I saw this in the Dec. 08 issue of print magazine.

SONiC

This is an ad campaign to promote Sonic's support for community sports, arts, and education. This is a creative approach because there are kids doing normal kid stuff and their silhouettes are filled with fruit.
This was in Print Magazine's Dec. 08 issue.

Writer's STRiKE!

This is a logo to generate support for the Writers Guild of America strike. Ribbons are used to show support, so I think it was genius for them to twist a pencil around in the shape of a ribbon.
Image found in DEC. 2008 Print Magazine.

Oregon Humane Society

This is an ad campaign to get you to adopt a pet from the Oregon Humane Society. When I saw this I just laughed. It is very creative because in the images are dogs that look like their owners. I think it is great how the 'end petlessness' is on a log and short dog.
This was in the Print Magazine's dec. 2008 edition.

Lost Boys

This is a T-shirt design for the non-profit group Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan. It is a good design because the top of the tree is a bunch of figures in place of the leaves. Also the poetic placement of the words looks nice.
I found this in the 12/08 PRINT MAGAZINE.

Summer Guide

This is the cover of the Summer Guide section of the "Nashville Scene". I thought it was a neat way to play with words and an image together. Even though the boy is mowing through the words, your mind fills in the blank, which is a smart thing to use in a design.

This was in the Dec. 2008 copy of Print Magazine

FLAUNT cover

This is the cover of FLAUNT, Issue 89. The use of color and shape are so important in this design. It really catches your eye and makes you interested in it, so it is a successful design.

I found this in Print Magazine, Dec. 2008 ed.

Identity for Basin White

I think this is a good logo design because it is simple and creative at the same time. The extra detail on the bottom of the letter is nice since it is a logo for a line of bath products, and it looks like a puddle of water.

This was in the December 2008 edition of Print Magazine.

NUEVA FORMA

This is a logo design for a company named Nueva Forma. I thought it fit in well with the project we are working on in class. I like how the only shapes used in the whole piece are the ones used for the words. Each letter is either rotated or flipped and placed next to another to create new shapes, which is interesting.

GRAPHiC DESiGN

I think this image is very creative in its execution. It is a graphic design poster and I think what the type says is very true, because graphic design can be anything you want it to be, as long as it is "designed". I also like how the numbers look, you see shading and it looks like buildings at first.

Bright Ideas

I think this is an example of good design because there is a creative image of multicolored light bulbs with a text wrap below it. It gets your attention and then you see the words that go with the image. ( bright ideas and light bulbs).

Simply Fine Design

This is a design from a web page. I thought is was interesting because the apple gets your attention and then you read the words. All the words make sense with the apple, and the layout of it is good.

Nuclear Bomb

This image is so amazing. The more you look at it, the more you see. It is like a nuclear bomb made out of hearts, stars, dots, and music notes and it is bringing color to the gray-tone city. Usually when I think of bombs, I think bad, but this image makes them good in this way.

Cluttering...

This piece caught my eye because of the bold and playful design. I really like the analogous color scheme and the way the type follows the curve of the main image.
